Inclusion Melbourne – a leader in NDIS.
Inclusion Melbourne has championed the creation of the NDIS, providing support and calling for its establishment since the earliest days in 2008. Inclusion Melbourne has been actively involved with the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) since before its launch, having had staff serve as expert advisors on the design of the scheme (in the area of choice and control), as well as participating in Canberra in the initial strategic planning for the establishment of the National Disability Insurance Agency. Our relationship continues today, with our CEO one of the 15 experts from around Australia appointed to the Intellectual Disability Reference Group, an advisory committee that examines issues of NDIS design and operations as it relates to people with intellectual disability. Since the first metropolitan roll out of the NDIS in Melbourne, Inclusion Melbourne has been a valued partner for people with intellectual disability and their families.
We’re proud to be working with and supporting Victorians to transition into the NDIS. NDIS gives people the choice and control over who, how, when and where your supports are provided. We will continue to grow and provide more services in more areas around Melbourne as the NDIS is rolled out in Victoria. As a provider that has focused solely on delivering individual supports for adults with an intellectual disability since the mid-1990s, we are among the most experienced practitioners in Australia in help people imagine better lives and bringing these dreams and visions to life.

What is the NDIS?
The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) is changing the way disability services are provided in Australia. It has been designed to support people with a permanent and significant disability (known as participants) to take part in everyday activities. As a participant in the NDIS people identify the supports they need to live their life. These supports help people achieve their goals, whether they are around independence, involvement in your community, education, employment and health and wellbeing.
Whereas previously funding for most disability support services was provided to the organisation, the money now flows directly to the participant. This means that the person has more choice and control over how, when and where these supports are provided. It means that if a person is unhappy, he or she can move to another provider. Importantly, for the first time participants have certainty that they will receive the support they need throughout their lives – increasing and decreases as people’s needs change.
